I joke with my sons about this saying. They both have elaborate zombie apocalypse plans. I have learned about zombies by listening to their plans.
Zombies are pretty simple creatures. A zombie is bereft of consciousness and self-awareness. They eat and walk around. People, who are not zombies, try to avoid them. Any resemblance to your place of work is purely coincidental.
The key to this quote is “You have no plans”. It is very easy to lose track of what is important. We get busy with life and loose sight of what is important. How do you keep your focus?
Ask your self a couple of key questions:
- Where have you come from? Everyone has a starting point. Where are you right now? This requires an honest appraisal of yourself. If you are overweight, then be honest. If you have a spending habit, be honest. Without an honest starting point, you are set for failure.
- Where are you going? What is your destination. You need to set goals. Without goals, you have nothing to work towards. If you are overweight, set a goal to lose 1 pound a week. Goals set our direction.
By understanding where you are and where you are going, allows us to define what is important today. Review your goals and your starting points.
Remember, Without a destination, any road will do. Pick a destination and begin your journey.
